Canon PIXMA MP990

  The MP990 delivers all of the features that were in the MP980 and adds a few extras along with faster speed and improved text quality. It prints, scans, copies, and e-mails—launching an e-mail message on your PC and adding the scanned document as an attachment. Note too that scanning includes the ability to scan 35 film (both slides and strips of film) as well as photos and documents. One highly useful new trick is the ability to scan to a memory card or USB memory key.

    Putting in fresh ink is a great way to reduce costs. Make sure you have a couple extra empties because you can only refill a cartridge a limited number of times before they start to have problems.

    I'd better take my four year old Pixma iP5200 back then as it's defective. It's been happily printing DVDs ever since the day I bought it. In terms of maintenance and ink refill kits, it's not sensitive compared to other units out there.
